Our party of 8 had a very fine experience at Riad Assakina. The combination of the genial hosting of Grant and the elegance and style of Michelle made a beautiful partnership in managing the riad and making it welcoming and comfortable. And intimate. The details and the amenities of the interior spaces were exceptional as were the breakfasts, teas, and other extras. I can’t praise it enough and our stay there was one of the highlights of our time in Marrakech. In addition I was deeply touched by their concern for their staff in these difficult times. Truly fine people of this world offering fine hospitality to others.

I stayed in Riad Assakina in March 2020, as the Covid-19 outbreak was accelerating. It was a calm, beautiful and welcoming oasis in the busy-ness that is Marrakech and the uncertainty that was enveloping us. Grant and Michele did everything they could to make our stay an oasis. The rooms were elegant, the food good, .the staff top notch, Many have been there for years, which attests to the positive atmosphere. Each afternoon were were offered mint tea and cake and Grant and Michele remembered my inability to eat nuts and seeds and were mindful of that in everything they served me. They made a home away from home for us. I recommend Riad Assakina extremely highly.

Riad Assakina welcomes you with grace and humor in addition to attending to all your needs as a visitor to Marrakesh such as a carefully selected hamam.The element that makes Riad Assakina the best choice is your rapport with the proprietors-hosts. Traditionally, although this property was formerly a brothel, a riad was somene's home, and you are a guest in what served as a home. It is fitting to have a connection with your hosts.You will know you made the best choice to stay at Riad Assakina as you enjoy tea and cake. How better to enjoy the comforts of a home than with freshly made cake. Maybe it was a dream because I thought I was in heaven.The longer you stay at Riad Assakina the more artifacts and character you will discover. Beautiful decor everywhere, each room having its own color palette. The thick and rich fabric of the curtains created a cocoon for a good night's sleep. The bouquet of flowers, fresh fruit in the afternoon, chocolate on your pillow and a votive candle is all representative of the care taken by your hosts and their wonderful staff.You will enjoy a laugh at every turn by your host-rocker Grant and a boutique curated by your hostess-designer Michele.The terrace is spacious and comfortable where you would consider being to listen for the call to prayer or to relax and spot a stork.You are attended to at Riad Assakina with the utmost care as you yourself would attend to a guest in your own home.Thank you to Riad Assakina for holding a space for travelers to Marrakesh.

Riad Assakina is one of the best places I have ever stayed. It was everything I was hoping for from a riad and so much more. I honestly cant fault anything. The riad is exquisitely renovated and decorated, the rooms are spotlessly clean, the staff are amazing, the breakfast was fantastic. The standout however was the host, Michele. I have never been made to feel so welcome and been helped so much on a trip. Nothing was too much trouble, and her local knowledge and recommendations on trips and restaurants was so very helpful. Marrakesh isn't always the easiest place to do the tourist thing; the riad was like a home from home. Having travelled globally and visited Marrakesh a number of times, if you want a riad stay in Marrakesh, you honestly won't find a better one.

My husband and I stayed 4 nights at the Riad Assakina early September. Because of the timing, we were unable to meet Michelle and her husband as they had to take a trip back to the UK. We were met by Naoual who was absolutely so welcoming. I will never forget the beautiful atmosphere when she opened the doors to us. The amazing smell of a combination flowers, mild incense and calming music was something I will never forget. Naoul offered us mint tea and gave us information about the Riad and surrounding area with recommendations to restaurants and shopping. From there, we were lead to our beautiful room. It was one of the suites on the second floor with a beautiful platform bed and gorgeous décor. The bathroom was huge with two sinks and a lovely shower. Our timing of the trip was lucky for us because they were in between guests so we had the whole place to ourselves. Every morning we were treated to a lovely breakfast on the terrace as well as afternoon tea. The Riad is such a beautiful sanctuary to come home to after the hustle and bustle of Marrakesh. The location is right beside the Bahia Palace, so a bit away from the busier squares. But that was ok for us. I had come down with a bit of a tummy bug on the 2nd day of our trip but felt totally taken care of by the staff especially Naoul. She provided me with some medicine and brought me mint tea and bread to the room. The night staff were so nice and always available to us if we needed anything. Big shout out to Hicham and Hakim also the chef and housekeeper. The only issue for me (but I'm very very fussy about this) was the bed. I prefer a softer bed and the one we had was quite firm. My husband thought it was fine, but I just needed to add that in as I like to know this type of information before I stay somewhere. There was also a bit of a sewage smell coming from the bathroom which can't be helped as it is a very old city and its just part of the experience. Just keep the bathroom door closed and it will be fine. Please don't let that put you off staying at this remarkable place. You will not be disappointed! Thank you to everyone at the Riad for making our trip to Marrakesh a trip to remember.

We stayed for 5 days in Riad Akkasina and I want go back immediately . Everything is more, better than expected . We travelled all over the world and I have never seen a hospitality like in this Riad . Michele is the best host you can imagine , with a lot of tips and she arranges everything you ask for . She has a great team and at least for the banana pancakes at breakfast we will return . The Riad is well located in the Medina , but also for trips to the new town or outside .

Only a few times I have wished that there was an extra star/point to give to those places that are really unique and offer spectacular service. Riad Assakina, under the carefully and extremely competent direction of Michelle and Grant, is one of them. From my first email contact, I was sure our stay in Riad Assakina would be memorable. Upon arrival, Michelle provided us with an annotated map that I will keep among my dearest treasures! It was all we needed to ensure we found our way in Marrakech; she also provided great advice on restaurants, book them and look after many, many details. Grant felt like an old friend and it looked like we had known them for far longer than the five days we stayed in the riad. And the feeling extends to all the people that makes this riad a unique and special place. And I cannot forget Kaz, one of the most amiable cats I have found :-) The room and the whole riad are tastefully decorated and the food: breakfast, dinner (absolutely first class!) or the "tapas" were absolutely delicious. They don't have a restaurant, but they offer superb dinners and we had one of the best tagines there.I hope we can be back soon, this place is absolutely fantastic! Thanks for everything!
